Food & Drink

Freshly prepared homemade food is the order of the day at The Red Lion, where both the peckish and the ravenous are catered for in equal measure.

There’s a tasty selection of bar snacks and sandwiches (made with fresh bread from a local baker in Haslemere), plus (of course) a delicious ploughman’s with Colston Basset Stilton, Mature Cheddar and ham or chicken liver pate.

Heartier appetite? Feast on traditional dishes like beer-battered fish & chips, homemade steak & kidney suet pudding, minced steak burger, lambs liver, or, on Sundays, a classic roast beef and yorkshire pudding.

The main menu is packed with tasty dishes, but to spoil you for choice, the Red Lion specials board brings a further range  of seasonal flavours to the table - from fresh mussels to game and rabbit, from sizzling beef or belly of pork to great homemade curries. We’ve usually got plenty of fresh fish too, from our supplier in East Wittering who has his own small trawler.

We cater for the vegetarian too, with ever-changing dishes like goat’s cheese and mushroom wellington, filo parcels or vegetable chilli and haloumi and pepper burgers.*

As you can see, you’ll never be short on options. Whatever you choose, just be sure to leave some room for one of our superb homemade desserts..

* Please note we can cater for any allergies, just let us know.
